Sunday's favourite thing to do on a Sunday

We caught up with Brisbane based electro artist Sunday to catch up on what he’s been up to and what’s coming next after his release ‘On A Wave’.

Hey Aaron! How are you, what’ve you been up to?

Doing well. It’s a strange time for everyone but i am using it to be creative, throw myself into my music and art and learn new things.

To someone who has never heard of you, how would you describe the overall aesthetic and sound of Sunday?

Sunday is an upbeat dreamy electronic project with floaty pop vocals. I like to write about my emotions that are hiding from my normal existence and put them all together, not only with the music but with the live show with syncronised and conceptual visuals which you can see on my weekly livestream on Instagram @musicsundaymusic

What can we expect after this release, what have you got in store for listeners in 2020?

I was going to play live but we have all had to adjust so i thought of how to turn this into a positive, so i set up my studio to do live streams, where each week i can change up my continuous set, musically and visually and experiment with light, colours and concepts.

Instead of touring the country i will tour the web :)

If you could write, perform or collaborate with any artist; dead or alive, who would it be and why? (Or you can pick one for each)

I would love to have a session with Peter Gabriel and Nicolas Jaar. I love how both of them are unique artists that explore different sounds and expressions. Hopefully we could make a new song to hold ghetto blasters above our heads to.

What’s your favourite non-music thing you like doing on a Sunday?

I really enjoy programming the shows visuals, lights and coming with new ideas to make it more of an experience thing. All the cool concerts i have been to were very driven conceptually, such as Daft Punk pyramid, The Flaming Lips take over party and Cornelius’s syncronised shows. Technology is so exciting to explore and emphasise the emotional concepts of an artists to create unique worlds that you can escape to and take away a little piece in your heart forever.
