THE HARPOONS RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE

One of Melbourne’s best and brightest, The Harpoons return today with a new single “Do You Want My Love” - the band's first release as new signees to Caroline Australia, Select Music & Primary Talent.

Premiering via KCRW & Clash“Do You Want My Love” takes lo-fi dance music to a whole new level. Crunchy beats and sampled percussion introduce the piece. Soon melodic keys take over, driving you to the hook where a chorus of angelic voices begs: “Do You Want My Love”. At first untoward, they become more assertive with every ecstatic repeat. Just when you're imagining you're in a 70s New York nightclub, a galactic synthesiser leads the break down where Bec Rigby’s vocals shine. Joining Rigby is an all star choir featuring the euphoric and angelic voices of Laura ChristoforidisRischenda GreavesMohini Hillyer + Maia (Habits), Kristina MiltiadouRachel May Raggatt and Phoebe Stretton-Smith – an utterly delightful sonic teaming.

Along with their audacious new single, The Harpoons announce some massive signings. The first with Australia's largest independent label Caroline Australia, who house international acts Catfish and the Bottlemen Glass Animals along with local legend Alex Lahey. Prestigious touring agency Select Musichave added The Harpoons to their roster of artists, next to Client LiaisonMidnight Juggernauts Kirin J Callinan. The Harpoons have also signed with London-based agency Primary Talent joining heavyweights Daft PunkBasement Jaxx and Purity Ring

Renowned for their soul-infused, contemporary pop sound, “Do You Want My Love” is the band's first release since 2014’s highly acclaimed debut LP Falling For You and 2015's irresistible "Ready For Your Love". Crafted over two years, Falling For You featured singles “Unforgettable”“Keep You Around”and “Can We Work This Out”, which had previously won over fans via their infectious live show. The album soared to international acclaim taking them on a world tour with stops in Japan, the UK and New York, following local festival appearances at Big SoundMeredith and Falls.

“Do You Want My Love” is the first taste of more new music to come from The Harpoons – and coupled with three new signings, we can’t wait to see what this Melbourne four-piece are capable of.
