What's next for Jamie Lee Dimes?

Tell us about Goodbye?

Goodbye is a song I wrote in San Miguel de Allende, middle of Mexico in an artist town. It was a pretty dark transitional time, I was going between California andMexico for half a year and was going through a lot of endings of a toxic past. I wrote this song as a light spin on a dark period. I originally wrote it on a nylon string guitar, my favorite lyrics in the song is “you know co-dependency gets me down but I’ll say some prayers tonight”

You spent some time in the United States and are now home. How was it as an Australian artist over there?

I’ve been living between USA and Australia for nine years, there are a lot of cultural differences but I think overall people open their arms and a lot of doors and opportunities open being an artist living so far away from home, and people always want to hear your story. I also feel like it gives me this detached sense like I just go after what I want and can be ambitious with less insecurities or this tall poppy syndrome culture. You can also tour a lot as there is just a lot of cuties and towns that aren’t as spread apart.

What is your go to outfit to wear?

I love a good collar button down men’s shirt cut and sleeves rolled. Or as a dress with some boots. I love flannys as dresses too.

What is next for Jamie Lee Dimes

Well I just got home to Queensland after seven months of being in the states in quarantine so that feels good, just relaxing and enjoying Australia! I’m gearing up to release my debut album which has been a big process of recording and touring. I wrote a whole other album in quarantine after I was in Texas for sxsw so while I’m releasing one album I’ll record another and hopefully can
