What’s next for Jordan Astra?
Can you please tell us about your latest release ‘Reasons’ featuring Jalmar?
‘Reasons’ was written almost a year ago to a completely different beat which was sent to me by a Melbourne Producer. Unfortunately, this Producer wasn’t feeling the melodies or the lyrics, but I loved it, so I kept the vocals and I produced an entire new track around it.
The song is a feel good track that talks about that special someone in your life who gives you all the reasons in the world to love them. Nowadays we just say ‘feels’.
Have you always wanted to be a musician?
Can’t say that I have. As a kid, I wanted to be an F1 racer, but my parents didn’t want to buy me a go-kart so I put down the steering wheel and picked up the keyboard.
You write and produce your own music and even directed the video for Reasons’ with Mark Kobakian, tell us about making the video?
I love directing and bringing my concepts to life and Mark and I have been working together since I started producing music. For ‘Reasons’, we had a good discussion about how I can come across as a little too polished but in reality, I don’t take myself too seriously and live as if it’s to a soundtrack, so we wanted the music video to reflect that.
How have you been occupying your time during these past months in isolation?
Isolation is dedicated to spending time with my wife, staying fit and healthy and finishing my album for the end of the year. Nothing’s changed really and to be honest with you, I’ve been loving this time in iso.
What’s next for Jordan Astra?
Global domination, but in the short-term, a new album at the end of the year, more music until then and a 20-city tour across the US when COVID goes away - Can’t wait!
