Who would COTERIE like to collaborate with?

Coterie_SayGoodbye_91.jpg

We’ve heard you guys are becoming one of the artists to watch on the live scene, tell us what you can expect at COTERIE show?

A set of anthemic conversations between a band and their sweaty audience! Stormy anthem guitars and swelling synths & keys drenched with warrior-soul vocals... or at least that’s what we tell ourselves.. Otherwise, just a couple of local boys playing songs about their feelings and the beach.

What’s is your warm up ritual for a live show?

A glass of red and 3 deep breathes.

Can you tell us about your first live show as COTERIE? What was it like? When was it?

15 months ago we played our first show, just the same as we do now.. but with 35 people instead 350 people.. we’ve played some of our best shows to more intimate crowds, but it’s a lovely feeling to have so many people show us support!

Can you tell us any moments at a live show where something went wrong? What’s your best tip saving the show?

Haha yeah sure! We were the opening act for one of Missy Higgins Shows! The show was at Kings Park, Perth, 10,000 people in the crowd, we get on stage to play our set and Brandford’s bass guitar won’t work! Guitar techs, sound guys all running on stage trying to fix it, it’s blatantly obvious somethings wrong.. so we chatted, a convo between myself(Tyler) and 10,000 people.. First impressions hey?!!!. Haha!!! 7mins later the bass was alive and we could finally let the music talk! Tip for the day, chill, we’re  only human..

You filmed your new clip in a bus you bought to restore into a
touring bus, which member has been doing all the hard work, and which one hasn’t?

I’d have to say myself (Tyler) ! I bought the bus with my wife in the hopes of living in it and touring in it with the band! Although we’ve all been chipping away at this Passion Project, it’s a pretty fun hobby.. All our mates get around as much as they can to lend a hand! It’ll be a dream to tour in!

Once when the WA border re-open, where is the first place you want to perform?

Byron! Sydney? Anywhere & everywhere really!

You wrote your new song Say Goodbye with Hauskey? What was the musicianship like working with one another?

Really great! We’ve been mates with Hauskey for a couple years now, West boys! He’s a brilliant writer, great muso, lovely guy... so it’s always a good time hanging & writing with him!

Your Tastemaker series, is really impressive with the slew of artists you’ve performed with.
Who are the Top 3 artists, local or international, you’d like to collaborate with in the future?

Maggie Rogers, Matt Corby, Bon Iver
